Masons to host multi-district confab
DAGUPAN CITY - The Pangasinan Lodge No. 56, Free and Accepted Masons, will host the 20th Multi-District Convention under the jurisdiction of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of the Philippines, on August 25-26, at its Temple, Tondaligan Park, Bonuan Gueset, Dagupan City.
Some 300 Master Masons, including the top three officers: Worshipful Master, Senior Warden and Junior Warden of each of the 16 Masonic Lodges, from the three Masonic District No. RI-A - Pangasinan and La Union, NO. R1-A-CAR - Benguet and Abra; and R1-B-CAR - Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur are expected to attend Lodge of the Philippines led by the Most Worshipful Grand Master Romeo A. Yu and Grand Senior Warden Pacificador Aniag.
During the two-day conference, Masons shall chart the course of the directins of the fraternity which has the purpose of creating in the world, a band of men to whom others may look for example and inspiration - men who others will say are men of honor, virtue and charitable feelings.
Freemasonry is devoted 1) to God, the Great Architect of the Universe and Almighty Parent of men of every country, sect and opinion; and 2) to Brotherhood. It exists to furnish opportunities to its memers to enjoy it not only for its own sake but as means of something beyond. It teaches that all men are brothers because they have a common Father, God Almighty.
Masonic Lodges in Pangasinan are Pangasinan Lodge No. 56, Alfonso Lee Sin Memorial Lodge No. 158 (Tapuac, Dagupan City), Moises de Guzman Memorial Lodge No. 161 (Lingayen), Mangaldan Lodge No. 354, Hundred Islands Lodge No. 201 (Alaminos City), E.A. Tamondong Lodge No. 217 (Tayug), Agno Lodge No. 75 (San Nicolas) and Urdaneta Lodge No. 302.
Spearheading the preparations for this significant occasion is an executive committee composed mainly of the officers and some brethren of Pangasinan Lodge No. 56, to wit: Worshpful Master Paquito Navarette, Senior Warden Nelson Fernandez, Junior Warden Johnson Fernandez, Secretary Jose Netu Tamayo, Past District Deputy Grand Master/Treasurer VWB Edgar Tacadena, Past Worshipful Master/Auditor WB Cesar Villamil, and Past Worshipful Master WB Benjamin Benin.
Providing the much needed assistance and support to the host lodge for this conference is a council of past masters some of whom are its Past Worshipful Masters and the Past District Deputy Grand Masters, Past District Lecturers and Inspectors it has produced.
